Who is Walt Disney?
Walt Disney was born on the December 5th of 1901 in
Chicago, Illinois. He was alive during World War 1 and lied about his age when
he was 16, so that he could join the American Red Cross. Once he returned home,
he won a scholarship to Kansas City Art Institute. He started to create short
films with his friends after he graduated, but one of his friends who partnered
with him, Margret Winkler, took the rights to the cartoon character. Although
this was a tragic event in his life, a new and wonderful event began. One day
Walt was coming home from work, he was doodling in his journal. This wasn’t just
an ordinary sketch, it was Mickey Mouse. With the help of Walt’s wife, Lilly,
and his friend Ub Iwerks, he managed to turn a simple drawing, into the most
famous character in Disney Productions. From this point on he became a
successful animator. He produced films such as, Bambi, Snow white and the seven
dwarves, Steamboat Willie, Cinderella, Pinocchio, and
etc.
